A commissioned triptych depicting an abstracted landscape of a couple’s Southwest home. Acrylic on canvas; each panel is 24 × 36 inches.
7. For a commission of this scale, I create a mood board. I send paint swatches in advance (not shown), and we discuss the desired color palette. The clients also request specific elements to include—such as quail, mountains, cacti, and details from their yard.
8. Using the approved swatches, I create quick painterly sketches in Autodesk Sketchbook and send them to the clients for feedback.
9. The finalized sketch, along with a mock-up showing how the triptych may look in their home.
10. The completed paintings.
